Brussels / Washington: The Trump administration is preparing for a high-profile visit to China in April, aiming to finalize trade agreements with President Xi Jinping.

Ahead of this, the United States plans to secure a deal with the European Union regarding the supply of rare-earth minerals, critical for technology and defense industries.

According to sources, following recent developments in Davos and discussions around Greenland, EU officials are reportedly considering strategies to influence U.S. trade policies, highlighting their awareness of America’s dependence on Chinese rare-earth minerals.

The European Commission has also issued guidance to its member states, warning against pursuing separate bilateral agreements with the United States that could conflict with broader EU strategies.
