Pyongyang: North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has praised his country’s troops deployed to support Russia in the war against Ukraine. According to state media, Kim sent “warm encouragement” to soldiers stationed in Russia’s Kursk region, where intelligence reports suggest Pyongyang has deployed more than 10,000 fighters.

“Our army is a heroic army, doing what it ought to do and what needs to be done. It will continue to do so in the future,” Kim told military commanders in the capital.

His remarks come as U.S. President Donald Trump intensifies efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict, holding talks with both nations’ leaders in recent days — though without progress so far.
