A 36-year-old member of Finlandโ€™s far-right Blue-and-Black Movement has been fined โ‚ฌ1,650 for incitement against Jewish people after burning an Israeli flag and posting a video of the act online.

The Southwest Finland District Court sentenced the man to 50 day-fines. In court, he admitted to carrying out the act and sharing the video.

On the groupโ€™s website and social media platforms, the activist has previously highlighted his ties to the Finns Party and expressed admiration for National Socialism. He is still listed as a member of the Blue-and-Black Movement.

The movement, widely described as racist and fascist, was re-registered as a political party in May after collecting the required 5,000 supporter cards.

It had earlier been struck from the register when Finlandโ€™s Supreme Administrative Court ruled its programme incompatible with constitutional and human rights law.

The Blue-and-Black Movement was originally founded by former Finns Party members with strong ethnonationalist views.
