Finland is considering plans to evacuate Palestinian children in need of hospital treatment, Prime Minister Petteri Orpo said on Sunday.

In an interview with national broadcaster Yle, Orpo (National Coalition Party) explained that the proposal would likely involve a small group of minors, potentially numbering in the dozens.

He acknowledged the complexity of evacuating children from a conflict zone but stressed Finland’s willingness to act if possible.

“If we have the chance to help in this way, we will,” he told Yle Radio 1 during the prime minister’s traditional question time.

Orpo also urged Israel to cancel its newly announced settlement plans and reaffirmed Finland’s commitment to a two-state solution, though he did not clarify whether Finland would recognize Palestine.
