A new study suggests that individuals using cannabis for conditions such as pain, anxiety, or depression face a greater likelihood of developing paranoia compared to recreational users.

The findings are based on responses from 3,389 participantsโ€”both current and former cannabis users over the age of 18โ€”who reported no prior clinical history of psychosis. Data was collected through the Cannabis & Me survey, shedding light on how self-medication with cannabis may carry distinct mental health risks.
