Polish authorities have detained a Ukrainian citizen suspected of involvement in the 2022 explosions that severely damaged the Nord Stream gas pipelines connecting Russia and Germany.

The undersea blasts caused major disruption to European energy supplies and sparked international investigations into possible sabotage. Officials in Warsaw said the suspect is believed to have played a role in planning or executing the attack, but further details were not disclosed.

The case is expected to draw renewed attention to geopolitical tensions surrounding Europe’s energy infrastructure.
