Pakistan’s Army Chief, General Asim Munir, has invited American investors to develop a new port at Pasni, located near Gwadar and close to the Iranian border.

The proposed project, valued at $1.2 billion, aims to link the region’s copper and antimony deposits directly to the port.

Analysts suggest that this initiative is being positioned as an alternative to China’s Gwadar Port, signaling Pakistan’s strategic move to deepen economic ties with Washington.

If completed, the Pasni Port project could not only boost trade and infrastructure in Balochistan but also reshape the regional strategic balance between China, the U.S., and Pakistan.
