Finnish President Alexander Stubb has confirmed that Finland and the United States are preparing a

multi-billion-dollar agreement on icebreaker cooperation.

According to Reuters, the deal is expected to be worth around 6.1 billion US dollars.

Stubb announced that he would sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on

Thursday during his White House meeting with US President Donald Trump, alongside Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo.

Speculation in Finnish media had already suggested that icebreaker sales would be on the agenda of the high-level talks.

Stubb confirmed the development in a post on X, noting that the MoU would serve as a foundation

for future commercial agreements between the US Coast Guard and Finnish companies.
