A tragic accident in China has shocked the public after a driver was burned alive inside his Xiaomi SU7 electric car following a severe crash.
Reports indicate that a power failure locked the vehicle’s doors, trapping the driver and preventing any rescue attempts.
Eyewitnesses said flames engulfed the car moments after impact, while bystanders were
unable to reach the victim due to the car’s electronic locking system failure.
Emergency crews arrived quickly but could not save the driver.
The incident has raised serious concerns about electric vehicle safety, particularly regarding automatic locking mechanisms during accidents.
Following the tragedy, Xiaomi’s shares dropped nearly 9%, according to Bloomberg, as investors reacted to the news and called for an immediate investigation.
Authorities have launched a full inquiry into the crash, while Xiaomi has yet to issue an official statement.
