PM Shehbaz, WEF President Discuss Reforms in Riyadh

Riyadh Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met World Economic Forum (WEF)

President and CEO Børge Brende in Riyadh on the sidelines of the 9th Future Investment Initiative (FII).

The meeting was held at the request of WEF leadership to officially invite the Prime

Minister to attend the WEF Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked WEF for the invitation and confirmed that Pakistan will be strongly represented at Davos next year.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister discussed Pakistan’s economic reforms,

focusing on stability, fiscal discipline, digital growth, and new investment opportunities.

He said that Pakistan’s economic indicators have improved significantly in the past 18 months.

Shehbaz Sharif welcomed WEF’s partnership on building resilient food systems, calling it vital for Pakistan’s agriculture-based economy.

He also highlighted the importance of peace for prosperity, noting that Pakistan acts as a

key bridge between South Asia, Central Asia, and the Middle East.

WEF President Børge Brende praised Pakistan’s active role in the Forum and

expressed hope for continued cooperation to promote mutual growth and development.
