For the first time in three decades, transit routes between Armenia and Azerbaijan are active again. Kazakhstan

has dispatched its first shipment of around 1,000 tons of wheat to Armenia via Azerbaijan a historic milestone

after years of border closure due to the Karabakh conflict.

The reopening follows Baku’s decision to lift restrictions on Armenian cargo transit. In response, Yerevan

announced its readiness to allow Azerbaijani goods to pass through its territory en route to Turkey and vice versa.

This development comes after Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev

signed a U.S.-brokered peace declaration in Washington, mediated by former President Donald Trump.
