After Lahore was declared the most polluted city in the world in October, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has travelled to Brazil to attend the COP30 climate summit.

Her visit aims to discuss global efforts to reduce air pollution and combat climate change. However, critics on social media have pointed out the irony of her participation, given Lahore’s worsening air quality under her administration.

In South Asia, many users joked that “no one needs political comedy when they have leaders like this.”
