Romania has summoned the Russian ambassador after debris from yet another Russian suicide drone was discovered on Romanian territory just days ago.

According to Romanian authorities, the drone fragments were found near the country’s border with Ukraine, raising fresh concerns about the spillover effects of the ongoing conflict. Officials stated that this is not the first time Russian drones or debris have landed inside Romania, a NATO member state.

The Romanian Foreign Ministry formally called in the Russian ambassador to present the debris and demand an explanation for what it described as repeated violations of Romanian airspace and territorial safety.

Romania has strengthened air defense monitoring in recent months as cross-border drone incidents have increased amid intensified Russian attacks on Ukraine’s Danube port infrastructure.
