A Russian woman has complained online that her friend received what she called an “incorrect” European visa from Hungarian authorities.

According to her, the Schengen visa allows entry to some countries but bans travel to the Czech Republic, France, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

The woman said France was the most surprising restriction on the list and questioned why her friend was limited because she is from Saratov, a city in Russia.

Such visa restrictions are becoming more common as European countries apply tighter controls on Russian passport holders due to security and political concerns.

This case highlights how European visa rules for Russian citizens are becoming stricter across the Schengen zone.
