Former Indian leader Prithviraj Chavan has made a striking admission regarding India’s air operations, stating that the country faced a complete defeat on the very first day of the conflict.

According to Chavan, on the 7th, an aerial battle lasting only half an hour resulted in a decisive loss. He acknowledged that Indian aircraft were shot down, after which the entire Indian Air Force was grounded.

Chavan said that following the incident, no Indian aircraft dared to fly, as planes taking off from bases such as Gwalior, Bathinda, and Sirsa faced a high risk of being shot down by Pakistan.

“For this reason, our entire Air Force was grounded,” Chavan stated, adding that the situation left India with no operational air response during that period.

The remarks have sparked renewed debate over air defense preparedness and the handling of the conflict at the highest levels.
