Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov was urgently hospitalized in Moscow and has not been seen in public for about a week.

He was expected to attend a State Council meeting with President Putin and other regional leaders on December 25. Kadyrov arrived in Moscow on December 24, but on the night of December 25, his health suddenly worsened.

Russian media, citing a source close to him, report that doctors at the Central Clinical Hospital of the Presidential Administration stabilized his condition with difficulty.

Afterward, he returned home, but has stayed out of public view since.
