Senior Pakistani journalist Aamir Mateen has called for deeper strategic cooperation between Pakistan

and Saudi Arabia and urged other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states and India to consider the potential benefits of closer ties.

In a recent appeal, Mateen argued that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia’s emerging partnership could offer regional security advantages and suggested that cooperation might be achieved at modest cost to participating states.

He highlighted Pakistan’s willingness to stand with its partners and pointed to historical and regional examples of mutual support.

Mateen also referenced broader geopolitical tensions in the region and argued that states should carefully evaluate their strategic options and alliances

He thanked China for its role in the region but emphasized Pakistan’s own capabilities in particular naming the Pakistan Air Force as central to Islamabad’s security posture.

Observers say calls like Mateen’s reflect ongoing debates in South Asia and the Gulf over shifting security partnerships and the balancing of relations with major powers.
