Afghan security forces have reported shooting down a Pakistani drone in the Registan district of Kandahar province.
According to Afghan officials, the drone was detected inside Afghan airspace and was intercepted during a security operation. The incident took place in the Registan area, which is located in southern Kandahar.
Officials said the drone was brought down without causing any casualties or damage on the ground. An investigation has been launched to determine the purpose of the drone flight and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The development comes amid ongoing security concerns in the region. Authorities stated that Afghan forces remain alert and are monitoring airspace to prevent any unauthorized activity.
No immediate response has been issued by Pakistani authorities regarding the incident.
