Argentine President Javier Milei came under attack on Wednesday when protesters hurled stones at his convoy in Buenos Aires amid a corruption scandal.

The incident took place while Milei was campaigning for the October mid-term elections in Lomas de Zamora, a city about 20 kilometers south of the capital.

Riding in the back of a pickup truck and waving to supporters, Milei was suddenly targeted by demonstrators throwing stones and bottles.

Presidential spokesman Manuel Adorni confirmed that Milei was swiftly evacuated by his security team and was not injured in the attack.
