Australia and Japan have suspended shipments of low-value parcels to the United States after Washington removed a duty-free exemption for packages under $800.

The Trump administration’s policy change, which came into effect on Friday, ended the long-standing waiver on small parcels entering the U.S. without customs duty.

In response, Australia Post confirmed a “temporary partial suspension” of deliveries, while Japanese postal authorities also announced similar measures. Both countries cited the policy shift as the reason for halting shipments of low-cost goods.
