Balochistan Attacks Leave 10 Security Personnel Dead

Balochistan Attacks on January 31 Leave Security Personnel Dead

According to international media reports, several security operations linked to the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) took place across Balochistan on January 31, 2026.

More than 10 security personnel were killed during the incidents. Among them, four police officers lost their lives when a police van was attacked in Quetta, reports said.

Security sources said that around 37 attackers were killed during counter-operations.

Balochistan Attacks Reported at Multiple Locations

The attacks were reported at more than 12 locations in the province, including Quetta, Noshki, Mastung, Pasni, and Gwadar. The incidents involved gunfire and suicide attacks, according to available information.

Reports also said that the attackers abducted the Deputy Commissioner of Noshki district. In a separate incident, a jail in Mastung was attacked, and more than 30 prisoners were freed.

Balochistan Attacks Thwarted by Security Operations

Political reaction:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the security forces, stating that their timely response helped prevent further damage.. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi blamed the incidents on what he described as an “Indian conspiracy,” a term he used for the BLA and other separatist groups.

The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) is listed as a terrorist organization by Pakistan, the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union.
