President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, speaking to journalists after returning from the United States, said his meeting
with former US President Donald Trump was held in a constructive and productive atmosphere, stressing that relations remain strong.
Erdoğan noted that both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to achieving a $100 billion trade target and discussed humanitarian crises in Gaza and Syria.
He voiced support for Trump’s vision of global peace, underlining their shared call for an immediate ceasefire and a lasting settlement in Gaza and Palestine.
On Palestine, Erdoğan said Israel is isolating itself through “atrocities and crimes against humanity,” emphasizing that the two-state solution remains the only formula for peace.
He pointed out that over 150 countries now recognize Palestine and urged the international community to take decisive steps.
Regarding Syria, Erdoğan declared that terrorist groups have no place in its future and called for collective international efforts to secure peace.
On the Mediterranean, he reaffirmed Turkey’s stance of protecting its share of resources while working with neighbors on a win-win basis. On Cyprus, Erdoğan ruled out any discussion of federation, saying the matter is “closed” for Turkey.
