European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has announced that the European Union is signing a new mobility agreement with India.

She said the agreement will make it easier for Indian students, researchers, seasonal workers, and highly skilled professionals to move legally to Europe. As part of the plan, the EU will also open its first Legal Gateway Office in India to support legal migration and cooperation.

EU officials say the move aims to strengthen ties between Europe and India and help meet labor and skills needs in European countries.
