Finland Survey Shows Strong NATO Trust and Defence Support

Finland’s latest national security survey reveals a nation that is alert, united, and strategically prepared.

  • 84% of Finns view NATO membership positively, showing strong and stable support.
  • 81% believe NATO allies would defend Finland, while 66% say Finland must also be ready to defend its allies.
  • 61% support increasing defence spending despite economic challenges.
  • 78% agree that Finns should take up arms to defend the country even if the outcome is uncertain.

The survey shows that concerns about Russia remain high, and trust in the United States’ readiness is divided. Support for Ukraine militarily, financially, and through sanctions also remains strong.
