Finland has completed its first domestically assembled F-35 multirole fighter jet, named JF501. The aircraft is now ready and is expected to officially enter service with the Finnish Air Force in 2026.

The development marks a major milestone for Finland’s defense industry and shows the country’s growing role in advanced military aviation. The aircraft was built in Finland as part of the country’s F-35 procurement and industrial cooperation program.

The F-35 is a fifth-generation fighter jet designed for air combat, ground attack, and intelligence missions. It is widely used by NATO members and is known for its stealth, advanced sensors, and combat capabilities.

Finnish defense officials say the new aircraft will significantly strengthen national air defense and improve interoperability with NATO allies. The Finnish Air Force is gradually replacing its older fleet with modern F-35 jets to meet future security challenges.

The arrival of JF501 reflects Finland’s long-term commitment to modernizing its military and ensuring strong national and regional security.
