Finnish President Alexander Stubb has responded to the recent tariffs imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump on Greenland and other European territories.
President Stubb said that European countries stand united in response to the tariffs. He emphasized the importance of territorial integrity and national sovereignty, highlighting that the European Union continues to support Denmark and Greenland.
“Denmark and Greenland have our full support,” Stubb said, underlining that international disputes over trade and tariffs should respect existing sovereignty and agreements.
This statement comes amid growing tension between the United States and European countries over trade policies affecting Arctic regions. Finland, along with other EU members, stresses diplomacy and cooperation as key principles for resolving such disputes.
