One year after the killing of its leader Hassan Nasrallah, Hezbollah has firmly rejected calls to disarm, despite mounting political and military pressure.

The Lebanese government recently endorsed a plan to strip Hezbollah of its weapons, following the group’s heavy losses in its latest conflict with Israel. However, the Iran-backed militia has declared it will continue its armed resistance, framing disarmament as a betrayal of its cause.

The standoff underscores Lebanon’s deep political divisions and raises concerns about further instability in the region.
