An overcrowded monorail broke down between two stations, leaving more than 200 passengers stranded for hours.

The incident has once again highlighted the fragility of India’s infrastructure projects, which critics say are plagued by poor planning and execution.

Opposition leaders have accused the BJP government of mismanagement and corruption in major development projects. They also allege that sections of the media attempt to downplay such failures.

Meanwhile, officials said rescue operations were carried out to safely evacuate all passengers, with investigations underway to determine the cause of the breakdown.
