The Indian passport has fallen further in global strength rankings under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government, raising concerns about India’s global mobility and diplomatic performance.

According to the latest index, countries like Azerbaijan (72nd), Ghana (74th), and Rwanda (78th) now rank higher than India despite India being the world’s 5th largest economy.

Analysts say this decline reflects weakened foreign relations, visa agreements, and diplomatic credibility. Meanwhile, supporters of the ruling BJP continue to tout “Danka Bajaoing” even as India slips behind smaller nations in passport power.
