Iran Regime Collapse Won’t Critically Affect Putin, Analysts

The potential collapse of Iran’s regime is unlikely to significantly affect Vladimir Putin, according to Sky News military analyst Michael Clarke.

Two years ago, Iran was supplying Russia with large numbers of Shahed drones, making Tehran a critical ally. Clarke notes that the situation has now changed, as Russia can produce these drones domestically and is no longer heavily dependent on Iran.

While Iranian support continues, Moscow can manage without it, Clarke argues. Therefore, even if protests in Iran result in a change of power, it would likely be a symbolic political setback for Russia and China rather than a major strategic loss.
