Tehran: Iran has welcomed the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace agreement, but warned it would oppose any foreign-backed corridor in the Caucasus that could threaten its borders or undermine regional security.

According to Iranian media, the corridor—envisaged under a US-brokered deal during Donald Trump’s presidency—has been described as a strategic shift in the region.

While Iran’s foreign ministry called the accord “an important step toward lasting regional peace,” it cautioned against foreign intervention, saying it could destabilize the region and harm long-term stability.
