Tehran: Iran has welcomed the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace agreement, but warned it would oppose any foreign-backed corridor in the Caucasus that could threaten its borders or undermine regional security.

According to Iranian media, the corridorโ€”envisaged under a US-brokered deal during Donald Trumpโ€™s presidencyโ€”has been described as a strategic shift in the region.

While Iranโ€™s foreign ministry called the accord โ€œan important step toward lasting regional peace,โ€ it cautioned against foreign intervention, saying it could destabilize the region and harm long-term stability.
