In a bizarre incident in the Italian town of Borgo Virgilio, authorities have uncovered an unusual pension fraud case.

A local man allegedly spent years disguising himself as his deceased mother in order to continue collecting her pension benefits.

The scheme came to light when “Graziella Dall’Oglio” appeared at a civil registry office to renew her identification card. The employee handling the request noticed something suspicious and immediately alerted the police.

Investigators are now determining how long the fraudulent claims continued and how much money the suspect illegally received.

Authorities say the case is one of the most unusual pension frauds they have ever encountered, as the “dead woman” was kept “alive” through her son’s elaborate disguises.
