A woman from Kharkiv has been exposed for running an illegal baby-selling operation involving surrogacy and international trafficking.

According to investigators, the suspect brought children to Germany, where foreign clients paid up to €70,000 per child. Women recruited as surrogate mothers were promised €12,000, but in many cases, the payments were never fully made.

Authorities say the operation was tightly controlled by an organizer who managed recruitment, medical procedures, documentation, and the transfer of newborns to foreign buyers.

The main organizer, who coordinated the entire surrogacy network, has already been extradited from abroad and is now facing legal proceedings. Investigations are ongoing to identify additional accomplices and potential victims connected to the case.

An international investigation has exposed an illegal surrogacy and baby-trafficking network operating between Ukraine and Germany.
