Malaysia has formally agreed to import US$200 million worth of halal meat from Pakistan,

in a landmark decision aimed at strengthening trade between the two Muslim nations.

The announcement came during high-level discussions between Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim as part of Shehbazโ€™s official visit.

The agreement was unveiled during a joint press conference following delegation-level talks.

Under the arrangement, Malaysia will facilitate imports of beef and other meat from Pakistan, provided

the products meet Malaysiaโ€™s halal certification standards and competitive pricing.

The meat import deal is part of a broader set of cooperation agreements between Pakistan

and Malaysia, which also cover trade, education, halal certification, investment, technology, and agriculture.
