Buenos Aires: Argentina on Monday announced a revamped 31-man squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Venezuela and Ecuador, led by captain Lionel Messi.

The squad highlights a blend of experience and youth, with fresh faces including Manchester City striker Claudio Echeverri, Porto midfielder Alan Varela, and Real Madrid’s new signing Franco Mastantuono.

Coach Lionel Scaloni also handed a first-time call-up to striker Jose Manuel Lopez from Brazilian side Palmeiras, signaling Argentina’s focus on integrating emerging talent.
