In a tragic incident in Ohio, 64-year-old Jodi P., known for her years of rescuing and rehabilitating wild deer, has died after being attacked by one of the animals she had cared for.

Jodi’s journey began in 2013, when she discovered an orphaned fawn after a car accident. She named the deer Weezer and created a five-hectare rehabilitation center to provide care for injured or abandoned deer.

Over the years, her center became a sanctuary for many wild animals in need.

However, on November 15, a family member called 911 after a deer attacked her inside the enclosure. Police arrived to find Jodi severely injured.

Officers had to shoot the aggressive deer to reach her, but unfortunately, she did not survive and passed away before paramedics could administer aid.

Authorities are investigating the incident, emphasizing the inherent risks of working closely with wild animals, even those previously rescued and rehabilitated.

This tragic event has left the local community and wildlife enthusiasts in mourning.
