Finland’s defense company Patria and Germany have signed two major agreements worth more than €2 billion, including options, under the Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) programme.

Under the deal, Germany may receive up to 876 Patria 6×6 armoured vehicles in four different variants. Some of these vehicles will be equipped with the NEMO turreted mortar system and the Kongsberg RS4 remote-controlled weapon system.

This agreement is the largest single contract in Patria’s history.

Patria said it will work closely with German industry partners to deliver the vehicles to the German Armed Forces. The cooperation will also help strengthen local production and security of supply in Germany.

Patria added that it is fully prepared to support Germany with reliable vehicles and long-term industrial cooperation through the CAVS programme.
