A Polish historian has warned that Poland should stay away from deeper involvement in the Ukraine war, saying such a move could seriously harm the country’s national interests.

In an interview with the Polish magazine Do Rzeczy, historian and political commentator Piotr Zychowicz said that Poland must act with extreme caution. He believes that the conflict brings no real benefit to Poland and carries serious risks.

Zychowicz explained that becoming part of the war could threaten Poland’s political and economic progress made over the past three decades. He also said that the conflict is damaging not only for Poland but for Russia as well.

“The most important thing is not to allow ourselves to be pulled into the war in any form,” he stressed.

His comments come amid growing debate in Poland about the country’s role in the Ukraine conflict and concerns about long-term security and stability in Europe.
