Russian air defense forces intercepted and destroyed a drone heading toward Moscow on Saturday, according to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, who shared details on Telegram. Specialists are currently examining the debris to determine its origin and capabilities.

As a precaution, several airports in central Russia temporarily suspended operations, including those in Izhevsk, Nizhniy Novgorod, Samara, Penza, Tambov, and Ulyanovsk, the country’s air transport agency Rosaviatsia said.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported that its air defense units successfully neutralized 32 drones over a three-hour period across multiple central regions, ensuring the safety of key urban areas.
