A devastating accident in Saudi Arabia has claimed the lives of dozens of Indian pilgrims after

a passenger bus traveling from Mecca collided with a fuel tanker and caught fire.

According to early reports, the bus was carrying around 46 passengers, including 20 women and

11 children. Only one passenger is reported to have survived the crash.

Indian diplomatic missions in Jeddah and Riyadh have reached the site and are providing all possible assistance to the victims’ families.

India’s Ministry of External Affairs has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of lives.

One of the most heartbreaking accounts came from Syed Rashid, a resident of Hyderabad, who lost 18 members of his family in the incident.

A day earlier, he had urged them not to travel together, but they chose to continue their journey.

He never imagined that it would be his final farewell to his entire family.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the accident may have been caused by technical

faults or violations of passenger transport regulations, though authorities are still examining the exact reasons.
