A deeply disturbing incident in Sri Lanka has gone viral after a New Zealand traveler shared video evidence of a local man harassing her on the road.

The footage shows a man on a scooter approaching her vehicle, exposing himself and

repeatedly saying, “Miss, sex.” The tourist managed to escape but later admitted she now

feels unsafe continuing her journey.

Sri Lankan police acted swiftly and arrested the suspect. The 25-year-old had attempted to flee,

change his appearance, and move out of his residence, but officers tracked him down.

An investigation is currently underway.

Official data shows that between 2023 and 2025, Sri Lanka recorded over 2,200 harassment cases

involving foreign women many occurring in public places, tourist areas, and transport routes.
