People are protesting against high prices and the falling value of the Iranian currency.

Iranian Rial decline over the years:

  • 2024: 1 USD ≈ 820,000 IRR
  • 2023: 1 USD ≈ 500,000 IRR
  • 2020: 1 USD ≈ 300,000 IRR
  • 2015: 1 USD ≈ 32,000 IRR
  • 2010: 1 USD ≈ 10,000 IRR

The sharp fall in the currency has increased economic pressure on ordinary citizens, leading to growing unrest.
