New clashes have erupted along the Thailand–Cambodia border, heightening tensions between the two nations.

According to a Thai Air Force spokesperson, Thailand carried out strikes targeting positions of the Cambodian armed forces. The escalation forced Thai authorities to evacuate nearly 70% of residents living in the border areas for their safety.

In retaliation, Cambodia reportedly fired BM-21 multiple-launch rockets into Thai territory. The exchange resulted in one Thai servicemember killed and four others injured.

Meanwhile, Cambodia’s Ministry of Defense accused Thailand of violating a previously agreed joint peace declaration, further complicating diplomatic relations between the neighboring countries.

The situation remains tense, with both sides maintaining high military readiness while international observers urge calm and dialogue to prevent further casualties.
