‘He Begged’ Trump’s Direct Account

Trump’s remarks were pointed and unambiguous. According to his account:

Going further, Trump directly accused his predecessor of prioritizing Iranian interests over those of the United States’ closest Middle Eastern ally.

“Obama was on the side of Iran, not Israel, and he made the deal.”

During his first term, President Trump unilaterally withdrew the United States from the JCPOA in May 2018, calling it the worst deal ever negotiated and reinstating sweeping sanctions against Iran.

The withdrawal was welcomed by the Netanyahu government and criticized by European allies and former Obama Begged administration officials.
