U.S. President Donald Trump has described the ongoing conflict between Pakistan and Afghanistan as “easy to resolve,” expressing optimism about mediating peace between the two neighbors though he emphasized his current focus on domestic priorities.

Speaking to reporters at the White House on Friday, President Trump said, “The Pakistan-Afghanistan conflict is easy to resolve, and I am pleased to end wars, but for the time being, I have a lot of work to do in the United States.”

The remark comes amid heightened tensions along the border, where both nations are engaged in delicate ceasefire arrangements following weeks of cross-border hostilities.

Trump, who has frequently referred to himself as a “problem-solver,” hinted that he could help bring stability to South Asia in the future. “I’ve ended many conflicts before,” he said, “and Pakistan and Afghanistan could be another success story.”

Diplomatic observers note that Trump’s comments may influence regional discourse, as Islamabad and Kabul continue negotiations to prevent further escalation and pursue a lasting peace agreement.
