Trump quizzes Finland’s Stubb on history of wars with Russia

In a sharp exchange during talks in Helsinki, former U.S. President

Donald Trump asked Finnish President Alexander Stubb about Finland’s long struggle with Russia.

Trump questioned: “How long has Finland been indirectly fighting Russia?”

In response, President Stubb explained that Finland has faced around 30 wars with Russia since the 13th century.

However, he emphasized that the country has enjoyed peace for the past 80 years.

The exchange highlighted Finland’s long and complex history with its eastern neighbor, as well as its present role in European security.
