US President Donald Trump has stated that he will not approve the delivery of US-made Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine without first understanding Kyiv’s intended use for them.
Speaking to reporters, Trump emphasized that his administration seeks to prevent any further escalation of the ongoing conflict with Russia. He said, “Before sending such powerful weapons, I want to know exactly what Ukraine plans to do with them. We are not looking to expand this war.”
The Tomahawk missiles, known for their long-range precision capabilities, could significantly boost Ukraine’s defense capacity. However, Washington’s cautious approach highlights growing concerns about maintaining global stability while supporting Kyiv’s resistance against Moscow.
Analysts believe Trump’s statement reflects a shift toward stricter oversight of US military aid, ensuring that advanced weaponry is used responsibly and strategically in the region.
