U.S. President Donald Trump has sparked controversy by sharing a digitally altered image on his social media platform depicting himself as the “Acting President of Venezuela.”

The graphic, styled to resemble a Wikipedia page, shows Trump’s portrait and labels him as Venezuela’s acting president as of January 2026 a title that does not appear on his real Wikipedia page and is not recognised officially.

The post comes amid heightened tensions following recent U.S. actions in Venezuela, including a military operation that removed Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro from power.

Despite the altered image, the interim president of Venezuela is Delcy Rodríguez, who was sworn in earlier this month.

The image has drawn widespread attention and criticism online, with many calling it misleading and provocative.
