According to a report by intelligence expert Sasha Ingber, multiple sources say the U.S. government has captured a device believed to be linked to Havana Syndrome the mysterious illness first reported by U.S.
diplomats in Cuba in 2016. Four people, including two familiar with U.S. special operations, told Ingber that the weapon was seized by U.S.
Special Forces several months ago during an unspecified operation and has since been tested to better understand how it works. The device is reportedly now in the hands of the Defense Department’s Intelligence & Security unit.
The Havana Syndrome has been a subject of ongoing debate. Some experts have speculated that directed‑energy weapons such as pulsed radiofrequency or microwave devices could explain the strange
ailments that affected diplomats and intelligence officers, though U.S. intelligence agencies have not publicly verified any specific cause.
Earlier accounts from the recent U.S. operation in Venezuela also included claims from some Venezuelan soldiers that they experienced symptoms similar to Havana Syndrome during the raid, but these reports have not been confirmed by U.S. officials.
